I very much like these two pictures as they show the human side to one of the most amazing presidential candidates we have seen in years. The first may be him thinking, taking a moment, or praying. I don’t care which and if his personal religion means that much to you, I say … “GET A LIFE!”. It’s his choice and his faith. NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!

The second just seems to be him taking note of Michelle on the video feed from the debate. You can tell how much they care for each other. This isn’t just a marriage of convenience, but rather a caring partnership. Likely to be the best first lady period based on what I’ve seen.

While McCain suspends his campaign

I thought his web page could use this Failephant illustration.

I thought this was cute, but if you don’t know what the heck this is based on, please read about it here.

McCain suspended his campaign to help, but he’ll do anything but as he is trying to inject political gain into the emergency. I don’t know whether we should bail out the financial sector or not, but I do know McCain will NOT make the process better.

I wish I had been at PAX 2008

Felicia getting her hair combed

I found this pic of Felicia Day being groomed by Jerry Holkins of Penny Arcade fame via her tweets on Twitter. There is also a great video (below) showing her being serenaded by the Bad Horse Chorus. She really responds quite well to the sudden singing :)

Not that the only reason I wish I were at PAX 2008 was to meet Felicia Day, but I’ve followed her for a while now; from both the Guild and Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog. I really can’t wait to see what she does next. It also would have been great to see Major Nelson demo the upcoming changes to Xbox 360 user experience.

Well, there’s always next year ;)

Oh, Elmo, how do you do it?

June 1, 2008

Yesterday, we went to see Sesame Street Live - Elmo Makes Music. We weren’t really sure quite what Ben would think about the show; would he be afraid of the life-size muppets? Well, it definitely turned out no, he absolutely loved it.

Here’s a video of Ben having a good time at the show:

I had actually assumed I would be descending into a low level of Hell in going to this show, but I wanted to go for Ben. However, neither Heather nor I thought it was bad (from an adult’s perspective). The songs were somewhat catchy, they used some old school projected graphics (think “number of the day” pinball), and the characters would sometimes do fun dances link the “robot”. All in all it was a fun show for all of us and we avoided buying any overpriced memorabilia, although I would have if I could have found the good stuff that seemed to not be located on our side of the center. They did have some good stuff that I saw others with, but $8 for a mylar balloon shaped like Elmo’s head? ;) … still, if I had had cash on me and Ben had asked for it, I likely would have melted …

Just got out of Harry Potter OOTP

July 14, 2007

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. It was appropriately dark matching the book’s tone. I need to think about a rating, but I am leaning toward 4 out of 5 stars.

I saw this nice standup for the Simpsons and figured I would have to grab a shot. Oh well, I’m off to see Ratatouille as well. It has been years since I did a double feature.

Testing Mobile Blogger

July 11, 2007

So, I figured I would test out the mobile features of blogger to go (Mobile Blogger). Seems to work rather well, and isn’t too pricey to do each month. Maybe I should send to Blogger & Flickr on the same message…

mmmmm…always-on connectivity…

By the by, I snapped this photo outside of Target after picking up a Mega Bloks Mega Fire Truck for Ben. I thought the sky with rainbow had a nice texture to it.

Here is Ben’s new toy…
