Spoken menus is quite a cool addition. I’m glad to see Apple is spending more time attending to universal access. This is an oft overlooked feature set that should be given solid attention. Now, it would be much more impressive if they added this functionality to more of the recent iPod/iPhone line, but one step at a time I guess…
Finally, some good iPhone accessories look to be on the verge of hitting store shelves. I’ve been getting tired of seeing nothing buy “Made for iPod” accessories when it is really just laziness not to also make them compatible with the iPhone as well…
NOTE: By proper, I mean with charging/auxillary output in one. An FM transmitter is NOT an acceptable solution…
This or alternatively seen here could be the in-car iPhone solution I have been looking for. I guess I will just have to wait and see what the reviews are like given the $80 price tag…
This could be good news for me as I have the Nike+ system, shoes and a Nano, but I now prefer my iPhone for some trips, so maybe soon I could use either? Also, the ability to transfer workout data prior to a sync could be useful. I’ll definitely be watching these news stories…
This looks rather cool. I want to see how well the accelerometer works for playing games as I just can’t tell from the video clips as to how it would feel. Now the question is will anyone be able to get this built solidly and submitted via the iTunes App Store…
I just ordered Ben a Tadpole iPod case from ifrogz (Ben’s getting the purple one).
Heather & Ben are going to be going on a plane ride and the Tadpole is so that Ben can use my iPod Video 60GB to watch some of his favorite TV shows or videos while on the plane/in the car. Hopefully this will help Ben to be more calm during the trip. I’ll post an update describing how well this little guy works…
I went out on the way home and picked up a green iPod shuffle. I must say that I really love this thing. It is small, light, clips to your clothing and in general just works great. It makes my walks much more fun as now I don’t have to carry around my comparatively bulky iPod Video 5G. I originally considered the iPod nano, but this won out due to price and size. I also think the nano is due for a major retooling. If they make it cool enough, I might pick one of those up too at some point.
It is about freaking time someone came out with this. It seems ridiculous that I would be constrained to only composite video when working directly from my iPod. Now, Monster has released a cable that can do both SVideo and Composite (with included adapter) without having to have a dock. It is also interesting that “iTV” is a registered term of Monster Cable. It seems odd Apple would use a term (even as a pre-release title) that another well-known company had already registered…
Now it is a bit pricey at $49.99, but I will probably pick it up at some point. Monster iTV Link for iPod Video and iPod Photo
I found a new toy that I think would be great to have at the desk… Isn’t it cute? He plays the music from the iPod using a concealed cable and his paws flash to the music. Also available in brown. Check it out for a soft, fuzzy speaker.
