Ah, corporate e-mail…the double-edged blade. It serves as a communication method so well when used properly, but it also preserves the ugly, internal workings of many a company. I actually have some sympathy for Microsoft here as I their internal debates have now seen the light of day and I imagine that some of the well-meaning internal critics may pay for their statements. Legal actions such as this, which are good for the affected public, make it more and more difficult for people inside the company to raise issues and the level of discourse concerning what may be poor decisions.
I’m not saying that the law should work differently, but I can’t see this making the internal critics’ lives any easier…
