Back from the Beach

So, H, Little B, and I are back from Kure Beach, NC. We got back a bit earlier tonight and I have been enjoying the abundance of broadband internet access I have at home. Since Wednesday, I have been checking on news & such through just my Cingular 8125. Nice, but painful when you are used to fasted speeds and A LOT more screen real estate :)

Anyway, I will be posting a review in the next day or so of Casino Royale. Just a preview, I loved it. I also got some work done on exporting my Delicious Library movie collection to the web. I redid some of the work I did previously and focused on XHTML for my mobile. However, I also modularized it a bit more (and backed away from WML), so now I should be able to make one program that does XHTML and XHTML for mobiles equally well.

If you want to see the results, head over here on your mobile phone…

UPDATE:

So, now go here instead. The link should now work for Mobile Phones (capable of XHTML that is) and normal web browsers. Currently still designed for the screen of a mobile device, but changes, they are a coming…

US rejects iPod DVD movie ripping request

US rejects iPod DVD movie ripping request – iPod/iTunes – Macworld UK

I will say this is absolutely ridiculous and has been for some time. It is an industry that is tearing and screaming as it gets pulled into the present. Technology has outpaced the MPAA and RIAA and likely will for some time. I like the option of buying DRM content, but I refuse to repurchase content that I already own (and, yes, I do OWN it and it is my right to do with it as I wish for my own purposes). Someday, hopefully the industry will realize that many of its consumers are not the sheep they believe us to be.

More on MS Windows Vista EULA

It looks like the issues I had previously written about with Microsoft Windows Vista EULA may be mostly resolved. The virtualization concerns still seem to be there, but at least now you can move the install from box to box without much fuss.

Crisis averted ;)
