Midnight Inbox

If you are a fan of the Mac and of GTD, then you absolutely must take a look at Midnight Inbox. I just found this app and from a cursory glance it is amazing. I need to play with it some more, but so far I am very impressed. The cost will be $35 once it leaves beta, but that seems fair for an extraordinary mac app (much like Delicious Library)…

Flickr gains geotagging

Great shot – where’d you take that?

Flickr has added easy geotagging to their UI. So far, I like it, but I have only made my locations visible to family & friends. The biggest compliment I can give it is that it is user-friendly. Simply click the “Map” tag under Flickr’s Organize function and you are presented with a nice Yahoo map. From here you can search for addresses or just drag photos directly on to the map. See the above blog entry for more details…

I do have a few suggestions on how to improve this functionality further:

  1. Allow for naming of addresses and selecting by that name, i.e. not having to use the map, but just saying geotag as “Work”, “Home”, “School”
  2. Auto-geotag based on tags. For the tag, home, an action could be setup to geotag as the “Home” address automatically
  3. Fix the map to recognize all addresses normal Yahoo maps recognizes. I had at least two addresses that could not be found in Flickr, but could on Yahoo Maps
  4. Within the map, it would be nice to have a drop-down, or some such to select addresses that already contain geotagged photos and have the map refocus there

Sisters blew whistle on Katrina claims – Yahoo! News

Sisters blew whistle on Katrina claims – Yahoo! News

I hope this isn’t true, but sadly it probably is. To think that the individuals affected by this tragedy have been jerked around is sad, but I know that State Farm as a business will try to limit its expenses, but lying and falsifying of data obviously (or should have been obvious) crosses the line…

O’Reilly vs. Olbermann – Cage Match!

This story is insane. Not only does Bill O’Reilly seem like a dick (can’t guarantee the story is accurate, so I withhold judgement) but Keith Olbermann is obviously just as much of a blowhard. Neither one is interesting, but the clip is rather funny…

Ben in his bouncy seat (Laughing) – Part 2

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5656023523055894201

This is the last of the videos mom shot for today. This one was shot with my camcorder. Here Ben is smiling and laughing while in his bouncy seat. While he smiled previously, now it is much more common and he has started laughing too. I really do love this stage :)

Another one mom shot with her camcorder. This is Ben playing in his bouncy seat (a VERY regular occurrence at the Vinson household) …

Tummy Time – Part 1

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=998781133925845193

This was another video of Ben taken by mom using her camcorder during the last week. Here he is working hard to move around while on his tummy. He’s not quite there yet as he can’t get up off the ground, but probably soon :)

Ben Playing in his Activity Gym – Part 1

This is a video of Ben playing in his activity gym taken by my mom using her camcorder while she stayed with us for the past week. He is getting coordinated enough to really start grabbing and holding all the little doodads…

“Stargate: SG-1″ May Continue (August 28th 2006)

Dark Horizons tells us that Stargate SG-1 will likely continue in another form. No announcements yet, but could this mean a movie, another channel, mini-series, etc.?
