Here’s another movie that is going to suck. DOA: Dead or Alive. It does capture the mood of the game which is mostly to take hot women and put them in a fighting game. The game also had the physics engine that allowed you to determine the amount of “jiggle” that occurred. No, I will not go into more detail about that
The movie’s answer to that seems to be a topless fight scene where the girl puts on the bra without missing a beat, makes the guy fasten it, and then cold-cocks him with the butt of a gun.
Definitely a $1 movie or Netflix candidate…
BTW, I haven’t found a good easy to access source for the trailer and I refuse to host it and waste my bandwidth for this garbage

I may have to go see BloodRayne. I mean…it has Meat Loaf in it. Yes, that is right. It has Meat Fucking Loaf.

Software.
Microsoft has released free development tools. However, there is a catch. They are only free to download for the first year. They originally planned on selling these basic versions for $49, but decided to start with a free promotion. Your copy won’t stop working in a year, but the next copy may cost you.
Personally, I’m glad to see them waking up to hobbyist developers, but I can’t recommend anyone use these tools. After all, it is Microsoft and we all know how much Windows sucks. Most developers would be better off with Linux and gcc or a Mac and Xcode (which is free). Oh well, enough zealotry
I’m hitting the sack…

5 out of 5 stars
Yet another 5 star movie review. Last weekend was an excellent time for the movies.
So, Heather missed this flick, but it was tons of fun. I do believe this was probably the best of the Harry Potter with the possible exception of the first film. I also believe this was the first British director which probably helped with the overall feel of the film. Don’t misunderstand, this film does totally ignore lots of the book. However, it doesn’t skip anything that is critical to main plotline. One other semi-negative thing is that I do terribly miss the beginning scenes with the Dursleys. They don’t show up at all in this film. Actually, no muggle activities show up at all. One of the best things available in this film is the exploration of the emotional growth of the teenagers. It is fun to watch the way they deal, and don’t deal, with the torture of a ball and dancing. Lastly, Ralph Fiennes does an exceptional job as “He Who Must Not be Named”. At first, I wasn’t sure that I liked his portrayal, but then he hit his stride and the evil just came oozing out.
Once again, definitely worth watching…

5 out of 5 stars
Heather and I joined some friends from the Right Turn Cyldes last Saturday night to see Walk the Line. This was an absolutely amazing film. Joaquin Phoenix did an amazing job matching up with Johnny Cash’s mannerisms. It was very easy to connect with the sadness in his past and with the drug problems that he experienced pretty much all of his life. Reese Witherspoon’s performance was also exemplary. They both do an excellent job of singing the parts of Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash. One of my favorite scenes in the movie is when June Carter’s parents, Ezra and Maybelle Carter, come out to block a drug dealer from delivering to the recovering Johnny Cash. Both parents come into frame brandishing shotguns. Watching Maybelle Carter with a shotgun was quite funny, but it was obvious that she meant business.
This is a definite oscar candidate and an obvious must buy once it comes out on DVD. I highly recommend everyone check it out soon.

Yes, I am yet again behind on my site updates. I have not yet finished writing my review of Walk the Line and I just got home from seeing Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, so I now have 2 reviews to write
I will be at home during the Thanksgiving holidays, so if I have not gotten them up by then, then they should be coming shortly thereafter as I will have some free time. My cold is close to being gone and I do feel much better, but I still have a bit of a cough.

Sorry for the lack of updates lately. I’ve felt pretty lousy since we got back from Gatlinburg. In a bit, Heather and I are going to join some friends to see ‘Walk the Line‘. I plan to have a review up later tonight or tomorrow.
On another note, I’m still loving my new Alpine car stereo. It is an amazing change over the factory unit I had in my Honda and well worth every penny.
Talk to you all later…

Hey all. We got back from Gatlinburg, TN last night and I posted some pics in the gallery. However, this is gonna have to be short as I need to get ready for work and I am starting to feel like I am coming down with a cold
Well, having been tired of my Griffin iTrip FM Transmitter, I ordered a new head unit for my CRV. Heather agreed to let this be an anniversary gift as that is just over a month away and I think she likes the idea of having easy access to tunes on our drive to Gatlinburg, TN. After a lot of research, I settled on the following components:
I looked at Pioneer, JVC, and Sony, but in the end I liked the expandability of the Alpine and the build quality seems superb. I don’t think I could have gone wrong with either Alpine or Pioneer. I was going to get it installed at BestBuy, but then I realized their parts (wiring harnesses, etc.) are rather expensive even when getting “free” installation. So, I am going the Crutchfield route. I am getting it over-nighted and it should be here around noon on Tuesday. I bought a soldering iron and heat-shrink tubing to do it all up proper. If all goes as planned, installation will kick off Tuesday night and I will be rockin’ on Wednesday with time to spare before the trip
