It may not matter to many, but the fact that Pixar has finally announced that they will not continue their partnership with Disney after the current contract ends is VERY good news. Pixar has an amazing collection of talent and Disney is flailing about looking for anything that will make them money and make consumers forget the last disaster they like to call films…
Disney has had some wonderful movies, but at this point the Disney executives seem to have either totally disbanded or choked the life out of their artistic units.
Hopefully this event will in the future allow Pixar to continue it’s success by making some truly great films and cause Disney to do some true soul searching and possibly find some it’s former greatness…

My mother-in-law is in about the same state as my last post. We are all still hopeful her condition will change, but it seems that this will simply take time to see how things will go.
As there wasn’t much for me to do in Easley, SC at this time, Heather suggested I go on home to get back for work on Monday. When we saw the weather that was coming, I went ahead and came back today instead of waiting till Sunday.
I have gone to the grocery, bought a small electric heater, and gotten gas for the generator. This on top of making the drive with a puppy in tow. Needless to say it has been an interesting and tiring day. I finally got done about 11PM and have been relaxing and playing with my new iPod ever since. That’s right I have it and didn’t have to wait till my birthday to get it. Heather was kind enough to let me go ahead and open once I got back into town. Seems like a good idea as I may very well be heading back to Easley each weekend until her mother’s condition improves.

For those of you that knew what was going on with my Mother-in-Law, I wanted to let you know that she is doing slightly better. She is still unconcious, but has responded in small ways when spoken to, but that has fallen off.
She still has all of the problems going on, but they are slowly stabilizing her so that they can begin more direct work on attacking the different problems. I am hopeful that this means she could recover, but it may still go either way. Unfortunately, it is still touch and go at this point.
Thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers. I know Heather and her brother appreciates them. Talk to you all soon…

Well, the 20GB iPod is on its way thanks to the 10% off sale at CompUSA. Heather and I talked it over and ordered it, but I have to put it away until my birthday towards the end of February
Oh well, an iPod later is better than no iPod at all…
Now I just need to get some decent headphones.
Larry and Ben have both posted this image and I am going to show it merely as a representation of my obsession…

Larry, Ben, and all the other usual suspects have driven me to the desire of an iPod. I thought I was successfully holding out when the iPod Mini came out for $249 (at least $50 too much), but now I find myself planning for a 20GB iPod. Oh, how weak I am…
I think Heather is going to get it for me next month on my birthday. She is very understanding of my addiction (Thank God or I would be out on the street inside of a week).
I just want to say to my iPod owning friends…
I hate you guys so very very much…You go to hell, you go to hell and you die
BTW, Larry, can I check out your iTrip? Hey, at least you got in an evil deed for the month by pushing me into spending $400
[UPDATE:]
BTW, If you do have any suggestions as to good accessories or helpful hints, please let me know. I keep telling myself, “You don’t need 40GB!”
Tomorrow marks a new Steve-note and I am such a geek that I can’t wait
Usually this is the time of year that cool new toys from Apple come out that are designed to separate me from my money.
Hmmm…. maybe that rumored new mini iPod or possibly some new digital lifestyle app. Well, who knows, but tomorrow should be interesting…

Well, New Year’s Eve has come and gone and we’re into 2004. It seems a little surreal as it doesn’t feel like a new year yet. Dick Clark doesn’t ever seem to age, yet the show becomes more and more of a ridiculous event every year.
Anyway, I hope everyone has a good time and I look forward to this year…
