So, yet another Turkey Day has come and gone. I have much to be thankful for and hope that the upcoming year is a continuation of the last. I have a job that I am very happy in and I get to work with very talented people on a daily basis. I know that in the past things have not always been so good. This is probably the primary reason I do less with computers when I get home as there is so much to get done while at work and most of that holds an interest for me.
We’re now prepping for Christmas at the Vinson home. The tree is up and the decorations will be going up in the coming days. My mom and brother will be coming up and staying with us right before Christmas which I know means Heather will have lots of little tasks for me in the coming weeks …

If you are currently pointing to http://blog.vinsonweb.com or http://vinsonweb.com/blog, please consider updating your links to simply point to http://vinsonweb.com. I have updated Movable Type’s configuration to make the blog a more central focus of my website.
The old links will continue to work, but are simply redirects to http://vinsonweb.com.
Thanks…

I finally have some pictures of Vegas up in the Photos section. She is a Jack Russell Terrier/Beagle mix and is very energetic. Just today she chewed right through the harness that I mistakenly left on her just a bit too long.
The good news is she is doing quite well in basic dog obedience training. She has learned to “sit”
. This may not seem like much, but I consider it a good start and really look forward to where she will be able to get to in the coming weeks…
UPDATE:
Go to Flickr now instead…

Heather asked last night what I would like for Christmas and to tell the truth, I’m still not sure. There are three bigger ticket items I want right now:
The first two are over the top. The iPod is more of a fantasy item and the Canon digital camera will probably be what I ask everyone in my family for come next February 25th (My birthday). I need it to replace my crappy current camera that can’t handle movement, low-light, etc.
So, the GPS may be a good pick…

I do apologize for all the funkiness of the main page right now. I hope to have it cleaned up soon. Doing a little experimentation and for some reason I started working off my live copy and just got caught up in the fun
UPDATE: I think I have most of the beginning changes in place, but there are still several things left to work on. However, this marks a good stopping point. I am currently looking to expand my use of Brad Choate’s MTMacro and to begin putting MTRegex to work. The former is currently providing the offsite link,
, but I want to add in smiley replacement, Amazon.com linkage, etc.

A friend and coworker of mine pointed out css Zen Garden: The Beauty in CSS Design. This site is really quite cool. I love working at others’ design work, however, I just wish I had a little more talent in this area. Anyway, it is definitely worth a look if you have any interest in css at all…

I just wanted to throw out my recommendation that anyone considering a new pet should take a look at the SPCA of Wake County, Garner, NC. Everyone I have talked with out at the adoption center has just been great. There are so many good organizations in this area, but I think the SPCA deserves a look if you are looking to do something charitable this holiday season.
Maybe purchase an Entertainment Coupon Book. The SPCA will receive 50% of all proceeds and you can come away with lots of discounts at area restaurants and stores…

Like I said, life has just been crazy lately. I haven’t had a chance to post in a while, but things are now settling down.
Just to catch things up…
A week and a half ago, Heather and I got a dog from the SPCA of Wake County. He name is Vegas and she is a Jack Russell Terrier/Beagle mix. She has a wonderful temperament, but we have all 3 been making adjustments to learn to live together. I can definitely say that she is making our home a more fun place.
A group from work went to see Matrix Revolutions today. I enjoyed it, but I would say it is probably my least favorite of the trilogy. Still, I believe a good time was had by all.
Be back soon with more details…
